Dr Rhatigan is a fully qualified Doctor and experienced eye surgeon. She spent 19 years in the NHS and now runs a busy medical aesthetic clinic in Newport on the Isle of Wight.
She is an Oculoplastic surgeon with experience in reconstructive and cosmetic eyelid surgery and has undertaken Dermatology and skin disease training at the The City Skin Hospital in Dublin. Her profession has give her 10 years experience in the use of Botulinum Toxin (Botox) for Blepharospasm and the treatment of Squint conditions, as well as 15 years experience in the use of Ophthalmic Lasers. Highly knowledgeable in dermatology, both for beauty and for skin conditions such as acne, rosacea and hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), Máire was keen to develop her own Island based business that would enable her to use her expertise and to spend time with her young family.
In June 2005 Máire established the Orchard Cosmetic Skin Centre which is based within the St James Clinic in Newport. The clinic offers a range of private medical services including general and cosmetic dentistry and consultations for plastic surgery. For Island based patients there is a big benefit in having advanced cosmetic treatments based so close to home. For visitors, the Island offers a relaxing and beautiful location, complementing their treatment with a trip to the sunniest county in England.
